The Atrax – Robot Spider

Great that the Atrax is alive and running all over the place.  Hope the Teddy is OK after it was poked.

The Atrax is a 3 DOF Australian Funnel Web Spider inspired robot, that is mainly wooden made. The parts are cut from a 3 mm plywood plate with a Dremel saw. 27 servos are dispatched as follows: 24 for legs, 2 for fangs and 1 for the abdomen.
Everything else (servos, erectors, electronics, ..) are supplied by Lynxmotion.

Check out the site called robotshop.com, they got a few models of multiple legged robotics” – Angelo Quero

Just one thing missing, the ability to inject venom through its fangs!” – andrew czarnuszewicz

2 impacts: loud and slow. in ten years robots like this will be riding us home tho :) good job, very impressive (with what little materials we have to go about on earth)” – MDLagesCre0
